Paid Internships
The National Museum of Women in the Arts offers one paid internship,
the Coca-Cola Endowed Internship. Each summer the Southern California
Council (SCC) of NMWA offers one paid internship.
The Coca-Cola Endowed Internship is offered once
each term. This fulll-time, twelve-week internship pays a $1,500
stipend. Candidates must be interested in pursuing museum careers;
they must be undergraduates who have completed at least the sophomore
year in college, graduate students, or recent graduates with at
least a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.
Southern California Council (SCC) of NMWA
The Southern California Council (SCC) of NMWA offers an endowed
internship every summer. This full-time, twelve-week internship
pays a $2,000 stipend. Candidates must be interested in pursuing
a museum career or employment in a closely related field; they must
be undergraduates who have completed at least their sophomore year
in college or the equivalent in a college-level Design or Art school
in the Los Angeles County area with a 3.25 cumulative grade point
average. Additionally, candidates must be a resident of Los Angeles
County.
Applications for the Coca-Cola and/or SCC paid internship must include the
following:
- A cover letter, stating interest in the Coca-Cola and/or SCC
paid internship, stating how a NMWA internship will further your
personal and professional goals, indicating, in order of preference,
at least three departments that most interest you, and sharing
how you learned about NMWA's internship program.
- A resume, including education and employment history as well
as school and permanent addresses.
- An official transcript from each college and/or university
you have attended.
- Two letters of recommendation.
- A brief writing sample of one to two pages in length.
NOTE: If you are interested in being reviewed for both paid and
unpaid internship opportunities, submit one application
packet in triplicate and indicate in your cover letter for which
internships you would like to be considered.
Deadlines
All applications must be postmarked by the following dates:
Summer Term: March 15
Fall Term: June 15
Spring Term: October 15
