National Museum of Women in the Arts Welcomes New CFO
Media contact: Michelle Cragle 202-783-7373, mcragle@nmwa.org WASHINGTON�The National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) announces Pam Ayres as its Chief Financial Officer. She will play a vital role in the health of the museum, supervising all accounting functions and guiding NMWA�s finances and investments. Ayres has 20 years of experience as a financial officer for nonprofit, privately held and public companies. Prior to joining NMWA, she was Vice President of Financial Operations at Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington D.C., Inc. For eight years Ayres was CFO of the Atlanta-based information technology services company, Capricorn Systems, Inc. This fast-growing firm was listed on the INC 500 list and peaked at 400 employees. Ayres was responsible for finance, accounting, administration and human resources at Capricorn where she was awarded Manager of the Year two years in a row. Ayres was also CFO of Aperum, Inc. from 2001 to 2004 and Museum Services, Inc. from 1996 to 1997. A certified public accountant, she earned her masters in business administration from the Darden School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia and a bachelor of arts in biology from Hampshire College. ABOUT THE WOMEN'S MUSEUM The National Museum of Women in the Arts, founded in 1981 and opened in 1987, is the only museum dedicated solely to celebrating the achievements of women in the visual, performing, and literary arts. Its permanent collection contains works by more than 800 artists including Mary Cassatt, Georgia O�Keeffe, Louise Bourgeois, Frida Kahlo and Lee Krasner. The Museum also conducts multidisciplinary programs for diverse audiences including a film, literary and music series, and maintains a Library and Research Center.
