Washington, DC—On Friday, March 23 from 6 to 9 p.m. the National Museum of Women in the Arts’ Great Hall will be transformed into a live cinema for VJ/DJ: After Hours at NMWA. In celebration of Women's History Month, this real-time art event brings together video and audio artists from around the world thanks to a partnership with the Embassy of Spain and the Embassy of Finland.
“We’re excited and privileged to present such an avant garde event with the participation of live cinema pioneer Solu and her protégée Tesia K. These women are exploring a new form of expanded cinema by using emerging technologies to define and invent the art form“, said NMWA Film Programmer KJ Mohr.
Finnish live cinema artist Soul and Spanish DJ Samantha Waldram combine their talents to create a stimulating media experience with cutting edge visual stylings and minimal electro beats. Also performing will be VJ Tesia K of Chicago and DC’s own DJ junebullet. VJ/DJ: After Hours at NMWA is part of the National Museum of Women in the Arts’ Film Program's Emerging Artists/Emerging Media series.
Wine will be provided by Frexinet, Montecillo and Osbourne and light tapas will be provided by La Tasca Restaurant. Tickets are $20 and NMWA members are free. To make a reservation call 202-783-7373 or email reservations@nmwa.org.
