The National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) was built upon the generosity of its members-individuals, corporations, organizations, and foundations who share our goal of recognizing the achievements of women in the visual and performing arts. Today, NMWA continues to rely upon this broad based audience to support the innovative interpretive, outreach, exhibition, and research programs that the museum develops so it may educate people of all backgrounds about women who, in dedicating themselves to their art, change the role and perception of women in society.
We invite you to sustain the museum's vital work now and in the future by supporting one or more of our programs. In addition to promoting cultural enrichment opportunities in the region, across the nation, and around the world, NMWA contributors enjoy many benefits and prominent recognition for their important participation.
Other Ways of Giving The National Museum of Women in the
Arts relies on the support of our members, benefactors and friends.
Please consider including NMWA in your year-end giving plans. Your
gift of publicly traded securities, particularly stocks, bonds, and
mutual funds, not only helps the museum but can actually save you
money come tax time. Any stocks, bonds or mutual funds you have
owned for more than one year—particularly those that have appreciated
significantly—can be donated. And you are entitled to deduct the present
market value of these assets (not just the original purchase price)
and avoid paying capital gains taxes. The National Museum of Women
in the Arts relies on your continuing support throughout the year.
Giving generously to NMWA can help you reach your philanthropic goals
and provide tax benefits to help you reach your financial objectives.
Please consider making a tax-deductible gift before December 31.
Thank you for your continued—and invaluable support! Please
contact the Office of Development, 202-783-7992 or
donate online P.S. There are more opportunities for
giving that benefit both the museum and your tax status. Now is a
good time to review your will, living trust, beneficiary designations
and estate plans. It’s easy to make a bequest through your will or
living trust, or by adding NMWA as a beneficiary through your life
insurance or IRA. There are plenty of ways to give to NMWA besides
membership. Your participation always has been - and always will be
- a crucial part of our success. It's only through the loyal support
of donors and members that we've been able to present exhibitions,
educational programs, and publications dedicated to celebrating the
creativity of women artists. Please consider giving to NMWA in the
following ways: Participate in the Combined
Federal Campaign. NMWA friends who are employed by the federal
government can give to the National Museum of Women in the Arts through
paycheck deduction. Just select #27501 on your Combined Federal
Campaign ballot and you will be making a vital contribution to the
museum and its mission. Designate your gift to NMWA through the
United Way. NMWA's agency code for the United Way is #8565.
Visit United
Way for more information. Celebrate birthdays and anniversaries,
honor friends and family, and remember loved ones through NMWA's tribute
program. Commemorative nameplates on the Great Hall balustrades,
performance hall seats, gallery benches, and mezzanine windows start
at $1,500. All tribute contributions will be recognized with a nameplate
on your designated museum building object as well as listed in Women
in the Arts magazine. You may also choose to extend your gift
intentions and leave a legacy by designating NMWA as a beneficiary
in your will. For more information about these special gift opportunities,
