School & Youth Group Tour Request Form

Thinking of bringing a school, youth, or scout group to the National Museum of Women in the Arts?

Group visits require reservations and must be booked a minimum of four weeks in advance. Complete the form below to begin the reservation process. Indicate any special requests, such as incorporating a specific topic or curricular connection, in the “Accessibility Needs & Special Accommodations” section.

School and youth group tours for individuals under 18 years old are free. Required chaperones are admitted free. Please review the chaperone guidelines before your visit.

Types of Group Visits


GUIDED VISITS:

Tours last approximately 60–90 minutes and are typically available for a maximum of 30 people; however, we can accommodate more in certain circumstances. For tour-size accommodations, contact reservations@nmwa.org. The last guided tour of each day begins at 2 p.m.

Chaperone requirements:

  • Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten—One chaperone per three students
  • Grades 1–12—One chaperone per 10 students

SELF-GUIDED VISITS:

For self-guided groups of 8 people or more, complete the following request form in advance to ensure there is space available. Pick up a pack of free See for Yourself cards to engage with artworks, discover fascinating facts, and reflect on your experience.

Chaperone requirements:

  • Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten—One chaperone per three students
  • Grades 1–12—One chaperone per 10 students
  • For self-guided groups when students are assigned independent or small-group activities—One chaperone per five students

Note: Maximum capacity for tours is between 20 and 30 depending on the tour selected. We can accommodate more students in certain circumstances.
Chaperone requirements: One adult chaperone per three students in pre-kindergarten and kindergarten; one per 10 students in grades 1 through 12; one per five students in grades 1 through 12 for self-guided groups when students are assigned independent or small-group activities.
Note: The museum’s collection and special exhibitions include artwork expressing a range of subject matter, including the nude or partially nude human form. Please prepare students for the possibility of viewing these images before arriving at the museum. Our Education staff will be happy to answer questions or address concerns you may have about the works on view prior to your museum visit.
Pre-K and K tours are available Monday through Friday.
