Alison Saar (b. 1956, Los Angeles) uses dynamic printmaking techniques to explore themes of feminine, racial, and cultural identity. The artist’s hand-wrought woodcuts combine strong color and bold forms. Drawn from both NMWA’s and private collections, the exhibition also brings to focus how Saar’s printmaking practice relates to her sculptural work.
