Cultural Capital: Dead Man Walking

Go behind the scenes of an opera.

Get a behind-the-scenes look at Washington National Opera’s (WNO) production of Dead Man Walking, with special guest Sister Helen Prejean in conversation with WNO’s Artistic Director, Francesca Zambello.

Based on Prejean’s memoirs—which also inspired the 1995 film—Dead Man Walking infuses its score with American popular styles and has become an instant modern classic, hailed as one of the most gripping and important operas of the new century.

The event will be followed by a reception.
