Cultural Capital: Mujeres de Cine/Women of Film
Join us for an evening celebrating women in the film industry in Spain.
Director Nely Reguera’s feature debut, María (y Los Demás) / María (and Everybody Else) is a coming-of-age film that follows a 35-year-old heroine stumbling unhappily towards the rest of her life.
A rarity in Spanish cinema—a look into a woman’s world by a woman director, María (y Los Demás) tells the story of a woman changing her fate and re-shaping her life.
This Cultural Capital program partnership is presented by the museum’s Women, Arts, and Social Change initiative in collaboration with SPAIN arts & culture. This program is part of Mujeres de Cine: Traveling Spanish Film Showcase Made by Women. For a full list of Mujeres de Cine films and venues, visit their website.
