Join us for the Washington, D.C. preview of Ursula von Rydingsvard: Into Her Own, a film by Daniel Traub (2019, 55 minutes).

A portrait of the prolific artist, the film tells the story of von Rydingsvard’s early life and her profound drive to become an artist. 

Told mostly through her own voice and writings, the film also includes interviews with colleagues, family members, and close friends.

Screening followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker, the artist, and a reception.

Galleries, including special exhibition Ursula von Rydingsvard: The Contour of Feeling, will be open from 5 to 6:30 p.m. for screening attendees.

The Contour of Feeling focuses on von Rydingsvard’s artistic development since 2000, featuring works made from wood or other organic materials that present a window into the emotional fragility and imposing scale that define her art.

This screening is presented in collaboration with the Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital.
