Free November Community Day & Makerspace

The first Sunday of the month is Community Day at NMWA!

Visit us on Community Day for FREE admission to the museum. Explore the special exhibition Pathmakers: Women in Art, Craft, and Design, Midcentury and Today, and stretch your creative muscles with NMWA’s first pop-up makerspace.

Like processes? Explore and experiment! Want a product? Make and take! Celebrate the exhibition’s innovative spirit by tapping into your own creativity. This self-directed drop-in program gives you access to various art materials, tools, and ideas—as well as the time and space to play. Open to all ages, NMWA’s first makerspace can be enjoyed on your own or with family and friends.

Pathmakers illuminates the vital contributions of women to postwar visual culture and their use of craft materials—especially clay, fiber, and metals—to explore concepts of Modernism. Featuring more than 80 works, this exhibition focuses on women working at mid-century, as well as contemporary artists whose work reflects the influence of their predecessors.
