FRESH TALK: Writing the Balance

Join us for FRESH TALK on writing forgotten women back into history.

Women across disciplines are fighting for gender equality by revising history’s dominant narratives. NMWA proudly partners with Columbia University to explore how this rewriting extends beyond the page and into our society.

Architect, associate professor of architecture at Columbia GSAPP, and cofounder of MOS Architects Hilary Sample joins entrepreneur, social activist, LGBTQI ally, and author of The Bold World Jodie Patterson, and creator of the New York Times “Overlooked” series Amy Padnani to discuss the necessities and challenges of shedding light on buried histories. How does shifting the narrative advance gender equity?

Followed by Catalyst, a cocktail hour with a topic and a twist.

Required. Online reservations have closed, but tickets can still be purchased at the door beginning at 5 p.m. with cash or check. $25 general; $20 members, seniors, students. Price includes museum admission and Catalyst cocktail hour. The program will also be livestreamed at
