MAR 01 Gallery Talk: Bold Broadsides and Bitsy Books

Nuts about lunchtime talks?

Looking for some artistic and intellectual nourishment during your lunch break? Join us on Wednesdays for short gallery talks to explore highlights from special exhibitions and NMWA’s collection with museum staff.

This week, Director of the Betty Boyd Dettre Library and Research Center Sarah Osborne Bender discusses selections from the special exhibition Bold Broadsides and Bitsy Books

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION:

From the public nature of broadsides to the intimacy of a tiny handmade book, the Library and Research Center revels in contrasts of delightful collection items. The “Dead Feminists” broadside series presents eye-catching layouts profiling feminist heroes, while miniature artists’ books demonstrate intricate, hand-held craft.
