Amigos mios,
Soy encantada que Uds. están
aquí en Nueva York. ¿Pero en
que manera puedo sirvirle?
I know that the painting
must go on without interruption.
New York seems far grander
now, Diego, that you are at
work here. Would you like
to see some Italian marionettes
any night? Perhaps after your
exhibit opens? They are done
by a family who have inherited
the tradition. Their little theatre
is on Mulberry Street in the
Italian district. There is some
thing beautiful about the act-
ing. It is for the people.
Another idea. Berg’s new
opera Wozek is to be
given only once this year,
next Tuesday. The sets are

by Robert Edmond Jones. I think
he is our most sensitive stage
designer: In the sets for this
opera you ought to see what
we are working at here.
Could you go? If so, I
will try immediatmente for
tickets. Perhaps Freda would
telephone me.
I want to see you, but
especially I want to do any-
thing in my power to
help you. If there is
anything – absolutamente –
I can do, please call upon
me.
I will telephone Saturday
morning.
Wishing you success in your
work, I am,
Your sincere friend,
