Marking Joan Mitchell’s Centenary

In honor of the centenary of the birth of the acclaimed abstract artist, art historian Ellen G. Landau explores her two vibrant paintings in NMWA’s collection.

A vertical, abstraction features broadly painted strokes of pale gray, lavender, and cobalt in the upper two-thirds of the canvas. 10 am to 5 pm

Last entry time is 4:30 pm.

Holiday Closures: NMWA is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.

Library Hours

Tuesday to Friday

12 to 4 pm

LRC is also open the first Sunday of the month.

The LRC will be accessible by appointment only from Fri, Sep 26, to Tue, Oct 14.

Community Days

Enjoy free admission on the first Sunday and second Wednesday of every month.
