Virtual Happy Hour: Edmonia Lewis Celebration

A black and white photograph from the late 1800s of a dark skinned woman seated on an upholstered chair with fringe around the arm and seat. She is wearing a white collared shirt with a scarf tied around her neck, a light colored jacket and a matching ankle length skirt. There is heavy, dark colored velvet fabric draped from her right shoulder to her left arm. She is wearing a round, flat-topped hat over her short wavy hair.
