Virtual Happy Hour: Frida Kahlo Birthday Celebration

In a painted self-portrait, the artist stands in a stage-like space framed by white curtains. Beneath black hair woven with red yarn and flowers, heavy brows accent her dark-eyed gaze. Clad in a fringed, honey-toned shawl; long, pink skirt; and gold jewelry, she holds a bouquet and a handwritten letter.

Event Description

Happy Birthday, Frida Kahlo!

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to postpone the Frida Kahlo birthday celebration to later this fall.

Join staff of the National Museum of Women in the Arts for a virtual happy hour to celebrate Frida Kahlo’s birthday! AJ Johnson, partner and bar director of Serenata, will demonstrate how to make a specialty cocktail (or mocktail) in her honor, as we share artworks and stories and explore the museum’s collection and archives for all things Frida.

Free. Registration required. To support these programs and others like them, please consider making a donation.
