Event Description

About the Event

Presented in partnership with the creative, women-owned DC flower shop She Loves Me, this special hands-on workshop invites participants to explore the beauty and artistry of flower arranging through a historical lens. Drawing inspiration from the botanical drawings and paintings featured in the exhibition Women Artists from Antwerp to Amsterdam, 1600-1750, attendees will learn floral design techniques while gaining insight into the ways women artists of the time captured nature’s importance and meaning. After a guided tour of the exhibition, participants will create their own arrangements to take home, guided by the expert team at She Loves Me. At the end of the workshop, participants can capture unique still-life photographs of their arrangements, similar to those seen in the exhibition.

All materials are included in the ticket price.
