Gallery Talk: Contemporary Perspectives on Anna Ancher

Skagen to D.C.: Contemporary Perspectives on Anna Ancher and Skagen Art Colony

Join NMWA for our special series of gallery talks about Anna Ancher and the Skagen art colony.

From artist to art educator, Skagen to D.C.: Contemporary Perspectives on Anna Ancher and Skagen Art Colony features individuals from Washington, D.C.’s art community sharing their perpective on NMWA’s new exhibition.

Third-generation Washington artist Nicole Bourgea inaugurates NMWA’s series of four gallery talks inspired by the exhibition, A World Apart: Anna Ancher and the Skagen Art Colony.

Bourgea specializes in portraits and recently completed a series titled, “AS IS: An Urban Art Project.” She will provide insights on the exhibition and draw connections to her own work, especially  the protective psychological instincts surrounding the experience of being noticed.
