Wednesday nite
Dearest Frida:
The letter to Paca has gone off
airmail, and Cristina will have your message Fri-
day or Saturday.
I can’t tell you how sorry I was to
see you so tired and troubled..I wish I could
have done more for your comfort, Frida.
(And I hope Diego will forgive Stan’s
not insisting on taking him out to dinner..but
Stan is a literal person and he believed Diego
really wasn’t hungry…)
I am enclosing an envelope with my
address on it…please use it to let me know if
there is anything I can do..and how you are..and
what the doctor says….en fin…todito.
It was good to see you again..the
same cuate in spite of how uncomfortable you
felt…I was sorry we didn’t have more time para
platicar un poquito..but we shall make up for it
when you are well…y ojalaa sea pronto.
No dejes de avisarme si hay algo..
Con todo cariño — Dorotea
