Frida darling,
I’ve been thinking
of you and Diego so very
much – wondering how
you both are and what
you are doing.
Fernando Gamboa
is here, to help with the
Posada exhibit which
opens at the Art Institute
next month – and
talking to him of you
and Diego makes me
miss you both more
than ever.

I have been in the east for the past
six weeks – taking pictures of New England in
Winter for the Council on Education.
These pictures are to be made into a
film strip and sent all over Latin America.
When I launched I spent a week in
New York before going back to Washington.
It was wonderful. New York with it’s many
European artists is like Paris. These are
more galleries than one can count-
and Andre Benton, Ozenfant, Kurt
Seligmann, Leger and many artists are
there. It made me want to paint-
but so far I’ve done very little. Taking
pictures has kept me busy – and I’ve
also been doing a little reading for
some of the art magazines – am
going to begin painting again now
that I am back —
Am giving four lectures of the
Art Institute at the end of this month –
The subjects are Mexican Contemporary

painting — and Mexican
Fiestas — and it makes
me homesick for Mexico
and all of you — to see
these pictures & talk
about you —
Did Diego ever receive
the nice paper I sent
him not long ago —
about the first of Jan?
I hope so —
Be a darling and
write to me — Let me
know how you are —
Much love to you &
Diego – Florence.
Met Magda Pach in N.Y.
She sends her love to you
