Hotel Brevoort,
New York City,
August 10, 1940

Dear Freda Kahlo:

This will serve to introduce you to Miss
Ruth Berrien, who is vacationing in Mexico.
Miss Berrien, aside from being on the editorial
staff of Life magazine, is a good friend of
mine. She wants to learn what she can about
Mexico from you. I think she ought to learn
more than she knows about the deviousness of
the Stalinists. And she is interested in Mex-
ican art and charming Mexican people like your-
self.

New York would like to see you again.
I hope you will come soon. Please transmit my
caldo salutations to Christina. Cordially,

Herbert Solow
