July 9th, 1932.

Dear dear Frieda:

We were so shocked yesterday when we received Lucienne’s
letter telling us that you were in the hospital. My gosh, how terrible
that you have been so sick and had all this pain. I hope it is all over
now and that you will get your strength back very rapidly.

I wish so with all my heart Frieda that I could be with
you and do something for you — but what can one do. I’m so glad Luce
is with you.

I haven’t any news to write about Ivan. It’s good to
have him home. He keeps busy seeing people, reading and writing articles.
Something must come out of all this effort.

You will hear from Lucienne the latest news from Suzy.

She has been writing so faithfully and I’m forwarding the letters to
Detroit. Suzy hasn’t been so well either.

Ivan joins me in a big big hug and many kisses to you
