My dear Senora Kahlo

It is soon
that the Post Office Department of
the United States is going to
issue a series of stamps com-
memorating their great Americans.
This issue is to be made up of
seven groups five stamps to each
group or a total of thirty five
stamps in all. The groups being
honored are our most famous dead
authors, Poets, Inventors, Composers,
Scientists, Educators and Artists.
Truly this will be a beautiful
issue of stamps expected to be
my countries’ greatest.

During my leisure
I am interested in philately and
I am planning on having most
attractive first day covers for
the occasion. For this I have r
eceived autographed envelopes

each group and I take this
liberty in writing to you, as
one of Mexico’s great artists
asking if you also will honor
me by autographing the two
envelopes that I enclose, in
the upper left, so that I can
include yours in my collection.
I collect in pairs because I
have two young daughters who
someday I hope will share
my most interesting collection.
Indeed it will be a great
honor to me and I sincerely
trust that you will grant me
this very great favor.

My appreciation will be great
for what ever consideration that
you may show me.

Believe me

most sincerely

Sheldon Book
