Event Description
About the Event
Start the year on a high note with an uplifting night of music, creativity, and community care. Move to the smooth, feel-good beats of Les the DJ, and spark your creativity with a vision board collage activity, where you can cut, layer, and design intentions for the year ahead. Join a guided spotlight tour of Ruth Orkin: Women on the Move and learn more about the 20th-century photographer who helped capture the evolution of women working in postwar America.
In an effort to uplift those in our community, we’re hosting a donation drive in partnership with Suited for Change, a nonprofit providing professional attire and career support to women entering the workforce. Bring a donation of new or gently used clothing to help stock their community clothing drive and support someone else’s fresh start.
We’re collecting:
- Professional attire: New or gently used suits, dresses, skirts, blouses, slacks, blazers, and other workplace-appropriate clothing
- Accessories: Shoes, handbags, jewelry, and scarves suitable for a professional setting
- Toiletries: New, unopened items such as deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and feminine hygiene products
Please ensure that all clothing items are clean, in good condition, and ready to wear.
Throughout the evening, participate in meetups for various industries including education, communications, hospitality, arts, nonprofits, and more. Led by NMWA staff, these sessions offer an informal space to connect with others in similar fields, share experiences, and build professional community. Whether you’re exploring a new path or strengthening your network, these guided conversations are meant to foster professional connection surrounded by inspiring artworks. Whether you’re here to create, explore, or give back, this NMWA Nights is all about renewal, connection, and positive momentum.
Two drink tickets are included with admission; additional beverages and food are available for purchase.
All members can purchase tickets, even if the event is sold out; members at the Explorer level and above receive two free tickets to each NMWA Nights event.
