The Tea: Hayley Fahey

Singer-songwriter Hayley Fahey features in this monthly online series in which women musicians perform original work via livestream. Each session includes a short interview, conducted over a cup of tea, which explores the artist’s creative process. 

Fahey has enchanted audiences across the country with her voice’s dynamic range and bluesy tenderness. Her sound is a unique blend of pop, soul, and Americana, reminiscent of her earliest influences: singer-songwriters from the 1970s and early 2000s pop. She takes the audience on a journey with heartfelt lyrics, pop-driven hooks, and vivacious energy.  

In 2020, Fahey was one of five finalists in the Bernard/Ebb Songwriting Contest and received several awards from the Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Contest. She has performed at many festivals and events along the East Coast, as well as notable venues such as the 9:30 Club, Union Stage, Songbyrd Music House, The Hamilton, the State Theatre, Bethesda Blues and Jazz Club, Rams Head Live, Strathmore Music Center, and the Xfinity Center as a national anthem singer for her alma mater, the University of Maryland. She has opened for nationally touring acts such as John Splithoff, Erika Wennerstrom, and Sir Woman, and performed alongside D.C.-area legends including Daryl Davis and Keith Grimes.
