Event Description

The Tea: Joy Postell

In this online series, women musicians perform original work via live-stream on the museum’s social media channels on the first Friday of the month. Each session includes a short interview, conducted over a cup of tea, which explores the artist’s creative process. The Tea proudly welcomes Joy Postell this month and will be live streaming on NMWA’s Facebook page and at nmwa.org/livestream.

Baltimore-bred singer/song-writer Joy Postell is one of the city’s greatest treasures—finding the balance between soulful sensation and manifesto, Postell lyrically cuts with the precision of a surgeon. After receiving national recognition with her debut album, Diaspora, Postell has continued to set the precedent for Baltimore’s new wave of Soul/R&B.

The Tea is presented by the museum’s Women, Arts, and Social Change public program initiative.
