Event Description

The Tea: YahZarah

In this online series, women musicians perform original work via live-stream on the museum’s social media channels on the first Friday of the month. Each session includes a short interview, conducted over a cup of tea, which explores the artist’s creative process. The Tea proudly welcomes YahZarah this month and will be live streaming on NMWA’s Facebook page and at nmwa.org/livestream.

YahZarah began her career in the 1990s as a background singer for Erykah Badu and is known for her hits “Wishing” and “Why Dontcha Call Me No More.” The Ceremony, her newest set, was released in February 2021.

The Tea is presented by the museum’s Women, Arts, and Social Change public program initiative.
