What You’ll Need to Apply
Read this section carefully. Applications must follow this procedure to be considered.
Submit your application via the electronic form. Supplemental documents should be emailed to internship@nmwa.org. All documents must be in PDF format only, and labeled with the applicant’s last name, first name, and name of the document.
If you are unable to apply through the online job application, please send an email to internship@nmwa.org with your resume, two-page writing sample, and unofficial transcript (if applicable). Attachments should be in Microsoft Word or PDF formats only, and labeled with the applicant’s last name, first name, and name of the document.
A complete internship application includes basic contact information, a series of short-answer questions, the contact information for two references, a resume, a two-page writing sample, and an unofficial transcript (if currently enrolled in school). Please submit all materials in English or provide translations. Applicants may only apply to one position each term; multiple applications will not be considered.
Resume should include:
- Education and employment history
- School, permanent address, current email address, and phone number
Transcript (if currently enrolled in school) may be an unofficial electronic or scanned version.

- Contact information for two references must include name, title, phone number, and email address
- References may be academic or professional
- Must not exceed two pages in length
- May be an excerpt from a longer paper
- Use the “Cover Letter” field to insert your writing sample. You do not need to submit a cover letter for this application.
Application Deadlines
- Summer Term (June to August): March 14
- Fall Term (September to December): June 15
- Spring Term (February to May): October 15
