Event Description

Here and Now

What do you get when two art museums committed to celebrating women artists collaborate? BMA x NMWA! This monthly talk show puts women artists and their artworks in conversation with each other, across two museums. Join educators from the Baltimore Museum of Art and the National Museum of Women in the Arts for the first episode of 2021 as they welcome UK-based, Nigerian-born artist Mary Evans to discuss her ephemeral, site-specific silhouettes. Evans’s works often reference historical events, including the Atlantic slave trade and enslaved labor, and their impact on contemporary culture. Her work Prospect is on view in NMWA’s special exhibition Paper Routes.

BMA x NMWA: Here and Now will live stream Tuesday, January 12, at 12 p.m. EST. The live stream will be available on both the BMA and NMWA Facebook pages.
