Taking inspiration from Routed West: Twentieth-Century African American Quilts in California, preserve your thoughts, feelings, and unique familial stories through prompts in this participatory art method created by interdisciplinary artist Holly Bass. This drop-in activation will take place from 12 to 4 pm in the Great Hall.

Open Studio

Join NMWA educators in the museum’s studio from 10 am to 4 pm for free, self-directed drop-in art-making activities inspired by artworks on view. Activities and inspirations change each month. Visitors of all ages are invited to participate. Children 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Gallery Talk

Facilitated by museum staff members, these 30-minute, conversational, thematic talks highlight two to three works on view. Take a deeper look, learn about the artists’ inspirations, and discuss what you see, all on your lunch break. Meet in the Great Hall at 12 pm.
