NMWA Book Club: Cat’s Eye
Join us for a discussion of Cat’s Eye (1988) by Margaret Atwood. This novel follows a controversial painter, Elaine Risley, who grapples with her own identity as a daughter, a lover, an artist, and a woman. Written over thirty years ago, this novel holds themes and topics relevant to today. We encourage readers both familiar with Atwood and those discovering her work for the first time to attend.
This book discussion series, presented by the museum‘s public programs and Betty Boyd Dettre Library and Research Center teams, brings art lovers together to consider the lives and work of women artists, gender politics in the art world, and more. Past books include Nell Painter’s Old in Art School (2018) and Siri Hustvedt’s The Blazing World (2014).
