In this Fresh Talk, digital artists, curators, and designers will explore how technology is influencing the creation and sale of art and how it can be leveraged to emphasize gender equity for creatives.

The panel discussion will be from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., with a Catalyst Cocktail hour following from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

About the Panelists

Luba Elliott (moderator) is a curator and researcher specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) art. She works to educate and engage the broader public about developments in the field. Elliott has presentedtalks and exhibitions at venues across the art, business, and technology spectrum, including Serpentine Galleries, arebyte Gallery, ZKM Center for Art and Media, and the Victoria and Albert Museum, among others. Recent projects include the Unit London exhibition The Perfect Error and the ART-AI Festival in Leicester, U.K. She founded the NeurIPS Creativity and Design Workshop and curated the online galleries aiartonline.com and computervisionart.com. She is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University College London Centre for Artificial Intelligence.

Krista Kim is a digital artist and founder of the Techism movement (2014). Her work explores the concept of digital consciousness. Her interest in digital technology and its revolutionary effects on human perception, media, social structures, and communication led her to work in both digital and physical realms. Having developed her signature language of shifting gradients using digital software, her works on glass and plexi hypnotize viewers into a trance of tranquility, while her immersive video works provide meditative experiences of color and light. Kim is the co-founder of Creative Immersive Production Studio, 0Studio.ai.

Nyla Hayes, a remarkable 14-year-old digital artist, captivates minds with her visionary artistry. She is the creator of the acclaimed Long Neckie brand and pioneering NFT Children’s Day. Unveiling her original Long Neckie Ladies collection at age12, Hayes has amassed an astonishing $4 million in sales. She was named Time magazine’s inaugural Artist in Residence and Emergent Artist of the Year in 2021. Distinguished as a Cadillac Rising Icon, Ebony Power 100 inductee, Black Enterprise 40 Under 40 honoree, and twice-anointed Future 50 & Culture Shifter awardee, Nyla isa beacon of transformative influence. With a benevolent soul, she nurtures charities like Notes for Notes and Save the Music.

Damara Inglês is a metaverse designer and strategist, whose practice includes digital fashion, immersive experiences, and post-digital craft. Her practice aims to blend the notions of analogue object and digital aura, experience and memory, mysticism and technology. Her work delves into the notion of intersectional digitization within the realm of digital fashion, from immersive fashion worlds to augmented reality. Intersectional digitization allows Inglês to make sense of her own identity as an African, Black, and Queer woman in the diaspora and within the metaverse. Inglês is a London College of Fashion (University of the Arts London) alumnae.
