WASHINGTON—The National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) presents a line-up of acclaimed performers as part of the annual Shenson Chamber Music Concerts.
Through these concerts, the museum carries out its mission of recognizing and supporting women in all areas of the arts. Women musicians have been impressing audiences through NMWA’s free concert series for 16 years. The series was named in honor of Drs. Ben and A. Jess Shenson, who were longtime supporters of the museum and lovers of music.
“This season, the audience will enjoy virtuoso Israeli-American cellist Inbal Segev, who deftly explores classic and contemporary repertoire, and soprano Jeanine De Bique, whose dynamic tone and stage presence captivate international audiences,” said Artistic Director Gilan Tocco Corn, who has guided the programming of the Shenson Series since its inaugural season. “We will conclude our season with a moving tribute to Marvin Hamlisch, featuring outstanding soprano Mary Millben. This season is sure to delight every taste.”
Over the years, the series has welcomed emerging and established artists, including Sara Daneshpour, Christine Brewer, Simone Dinnerstein, Ingrid Fliter, Olga Kern, the Ahn Trio, Sharon Isbin, the Eroica Trio, Sara Davis Buechner, Valentina Lisitsa and Eugenia Zukerman.
