NMWA Nights: Earthly Delights

Jun 01 2015

NMWA Nights: Earthly Delights
Channel your crafty side. Enjoy happy hour with a specialty refreshment and snacks by Dirty South Deli. Participate in fun activities inspired by the fanciful and frightful artworks in the exhibitions Super Natural and Organic Matters—Women to Watch 2015. While at the museum, join special guided tours of the exhibitions and the museum’s collection. Please note this event is 21+.

Take part in our “Fiber Flora” and “Funky Fauna” art-making activities. Blossoms abound in Super Natural and Organic Matters. Take inspiration from artists, including Rebecca Hutchinson, Amy Lamb, Ysabel LeMay and Kelly Miller, and create your own bouquet of flowers by cutting, sculpting and transforming paper.

Looking closely at works by Louise Bourgeois, Maria Sibylla Merian, Rachel Ruysch and Sam Taylor-Johnson, discover a myriad of creepy crawlies. Follow patterns to make pixelated seed bead pins featuring your favorite creatures.
