NMWA Presents Women Perform Bernstein: Complete Solo Piano Works
Oct 01 2018
WASHINGTON—The National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) presents a lineup of acclaimed performers as part of the annual Shenson Chamber Music Concerts under the artistic direction of Gilan Tocco Corn. Through these concerts, the museum carries out its mission of recognizing and supporting women in all areas of the arts. Women musicians performing in the museum’s free concert series have been impressing audiences for more than 20 years. The series was named in honor of Drs. Ben and A. Jess Shenson, who were longtime supporters of the museum and lovers of music.
Join NMWA in welcoming the faculty, students and alumni of the piano division of the Catholic University of America Rome School of Music, Drama and Art on Sunday, Oct. 21, 3–5 p.m. In collaboration with The Catholic University of America Piano Division, NMWA presents a unique concert featuring the complete solo piano works of the legendary Leonard Bernstein. This concert joins a two-year global celebration of the 100th birthday of Bernstein, with more than 2,000 events scheduled on six continents.
