Programs and Events Complement Total Art: Contemporary Video Exhibition at NMWA

WASHINGTON—The National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) is pleased to present programming related to the special exhibition Total Art: Contemporary Video on view June 6–October 12, 2014.


NMWA Nights: Total Art
Friday, June 6, 5:30–7:30 p.m.
Price: $10 for non-members; free for members
Join NMWA’s Young pARTners Circle for a happy hour celebrating the opening of Total Art: Contemporary Video. Enjoy tours of the newly-installed exhibition, drinks, bar snacks and exhibition-themed activities.


Sundays, July 6, August 3 and September 7, 12–5 p.m.
Price: Free

Total Art Conversation Pieces
Wednesdays, June 25–July 9, July 23–August 13, August 27–October 8, 12–12:30 p.m.
Price: Free. No reservations required. Meet at Information Desk.
Video art captures viewers’ attention in ways other mediums cannot. Immersive installations engage multiple senses, requiring time to view and appreciate. During each “Conversation Piece,” view selected videos featured in the exhibition Total Art: Contemporary Video, then join NMWA staff in a conversation about what you saw, heard, felt and thought.
